Bengaluru: Unlike the previous bitter experience during the release of Rajinikanth starrer 'Kala’, which faced huge opposition in the state, this time the Thalaiva fans are overjoyed by the response to ‘2.0’, directed by Shankar and featuring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

The movie which has been released in at least 2,500 screens across India, and 308 screens in Bengaluru alone has received a thumbs up as Rajinikanth makes a comeback.

Apart from a couple of minor protests, and the one in front of the Cauvery theatre, ‘2.0’ release was more or less peaceful.

“One of the craziest fans of Rajini sir had booked the entire early morning show at Mukunda theatre, which is said to have begun at 3.45 am. The rest started after 6 am. This time, there were no bursting of firecrackers, and the fans celebrated the release by honouring Thalaiva's best friend - Rebel Star Ambareesh. At Rex theatre, Rajini sir's friend Raj Bahaddur paid respects to Ambareesh,” says Gandasi Sadananda, honorary president of Karnataka Rajinikanth Fans Association.

He added that saplings along with the Karnataka state flag coloured mini shawls were distributed to the fans who had come to watch the movie.

As for response to 2.0 movie, the fans were delighted and they claimed the standard of this movie was on par with any top class Hollywood movie - even better than Avatar.

With a peaceful release in Bengaluru, this Thalaiva starrer is set to break previous records at box office in the state.
