Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday asked the State Government to inform whether former Finance minister K.M. Mani should be impleaded in the petition filed by former chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan against the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance court order which said that state government’s prior sanction is needed for continued investigation in the bar bribery case.

The Vigilance Court which had made clear that continued investigation is needed in the case, also said that the prior sanction of the state government is needed under the new amendment in the Prevention of Corru-ption Act.  Achuthanan-dan, however, contended that in a case registered in 2014, the new amendment was not applicable.
