Andhra Pradesh: Devotees throng Indrakeeladri

Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Devasthanams atop Indrakeeladri witnessed a huge crowd on the ninth day of Dasara celebrations. The deity was worshiped in Mahishasura Mardini Alankaram. As many as 1 lakh devotees visited the temple and pilgrims had to wait for hours to get darshan.

The temple was decorated in a grand manner urging peace and prosperity. Navami special ‘Satha Chandi Yagam’ was performed along with Kumkumarchana.

Tollywood actor Rajendra Prasad offered special prayers at the temple and said that he was fortunate to get a darshan of the goddess. “Vijayawada is my birthplace and I used to visit this temple in my childhood after deeksha,” he said. The actor appreciated the officials for the arrangements made and  said that he prayed for the prosperity of the two Telugu states. It took not more than half an hour for the darshan in free queue lines.

Meanwhile, temple officials made arrangements for Vijayadasami where Sami Puja, Ayudha Puja and Poornahuti will be performed.
