Thanjavur betters state average in total passes

Out of 405 schools from where students wrote the examinations, 182 schools got cent per cent passes.

Thanjavur: Thanjavur district has recorded a total pass of 95.92 per cent more than 94.88 per cent recorded last year in the March tenth class State board (SSLC) exams held this year.

“This is also more than state percentage of 95.20 per cent and the district has improved to 18th position from 21st position with respect to state rank this year,” said Shantha, Chief Educational Officer, after releasing the results here on Monday.  

Out of 405 schools from where students wrote the examinations, 182 schools got cent per cent passes. Out of them 87 are government schools.

Ten Adhidravida welfare schools registered 89.94 per cent results, improving on the last year performance of 86.50 per cent.   

Two city corporation schools have recorded 93.10 per cent. One municipality school has got cent percent passes. Total percentage of passes with respect to 210 government schools is 94.42 per cent. However, out of them 87 schools got cent per cent passes.

As many as 35 fully aided schools have recorded a pass of 93.20 per cent. Two Oriental schools got cent per cent passes. Another 26 partly aided schools got 98.80 per cent results this year.  

As many as 94 self-financing Matric schools secured 99.03 per cent passes, while 23 self finance schools under DSE got 99.16 per cent results. Two social welfare schools got 76 per cent passes, the official said.

A total of 32,271 students appeared for the examinations. Out of them 30,953 passed out. With respect to boys 16,366 appeared for the examinations while 14,963 passed (94.08 per cent). With respect to girls, 16,366 appeared while 15,990 passed (97.70 per cent) in the 10th Board exam in the district.
