Water seen oozing from Charminar

The water was oozing out from the first-floor platform beneath the lattice in the north-eastern minaret.

Hyderabad: Tourists were alarmed on Monday afternoon to see water seeping out from a huge crack on the Charminar’s north-eastern minaret. The rainwater was flowing out at intervals.

The water was oozing out from the first-floor platform beneath the lattice in the north-eastern minaret. Archaeological Survey of India superintendent Dr Milan Kumar Chouley said, “Rain water had collected in that section and the workers were throwing it out. Also, there were bird-droppings in that section which was cleaned by using rain water.”
