Listing out a few samples of the abusive fake tweets, Bharathi sought urgent police action to bring the culprits to book and also to prevent further mischief.

Chennai: “It's not right to assume all Christians are bad just because one pastor made a mistake. I have not seen anyone among the Hindus who is as righteous as the Christians. And all the Hindu samiyars (priests) are thieves”.

Are you, the Hindu, upset and angry? Even so because the hugely offending abuse bears the @mkstalin hashtag?
That's precisely what the DMK's organising secretary R S Bharathi, is worried about.

In a complaint filed with the Chennai Police Commissioner, the DMK's Rajya Sabha Member has alleged that some miscreants with vested interests have fraudulently created a fake of his party president M K Stalin's twitter handle and are posting offensive content to turn the Hindus against the leader and the party.

Listing out a few samples of the abusive fake tweets, Bharathi sought urgent police action to bring the culprits to book and also to prevent further mischief.

Another criminal fake read thus: “Anyone going to temples need not vote for the DMK. If we must win (election) only from such votes, then the DMK does not need such a victory”. Yet another terrible tweet said any Hindu with pride and self-respect should get out of the DMK.

In his complaint to the CoP, Bharathi said Stalin had endeared himself to all the people, irrespective of caste and creed, by his principles and public conduct. As the DMK president and the Leader of Opposition, he had undertaken statewide tours and participated in rallies to meet with people of all religions and castes while taking up critical issues vital for the state and its people, Bharathi said.

However, some elements annoyed by the good image and public repute earned by Stalin and with a view to spoil his healthy relations with the public, particularly the Hindus, have created a fake twitter account resembling his, and have been posting offending tweets so as to turn the people against the DMK leader. These offensive tweets could also endanger public peace and religious harmony, Bharathi said, while seeking urgent police action against those responsible.
