Hyderabad High Court stops operation of stone crusher in Khammam

Counsel for the TS PCB informed the court that the application to set up the stone crusher was rejected by the Board.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the Khammam district administration to stop operation of a stone crusher in Nelakondapally of the district with immediate effect.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A. Shankar Narayana, granted the interim order on a petition by Rudra Venkata Narayana and 33 other farmers of the village, who said that crusher did not have any permission from the  Pollution Control Board and other authorities concerned. He said that the dust emanating from the crusher was leading to destruction of fertile lands.

Counsel for the TS PCB informed the court that the application to set up the stone crusher was rejected by the Board. While grating the interim order, the bench ordered notices to all the respondents.
