Chennai: The AIADMK would organize a protest before the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) in protest against the present ‘blackout’ of the name of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the announcement onboard the Metro Rail coaches for the station at the Koyambedu mofussil bus stand, the party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said.

Demanding the restoration of the name of Jayalalithaa while making announcement for the arrival of the mofussil bus stand by CMRL and the State government, Palaniswami said earlier the announcement over the public address system inside the coaches described the station as ‘Puratchi Thalavi Dr Jayalalithaa Moffussil  bus stand.’

Of late CMRL had changed the name of the station by dropping the name of Jayalalithaa, he said and gave a long list of the AIADMK government’s contribution to the construction of the Metro Rail. He also recalled the various routes inaugurated by Jayalalithaa and by him during their tenures as Chief Ministers.
