Puducherry: Opposition AIADMK on Monday urged Lt Governor Kiran Bedi to recommend to the President dismissal of the Congress government in Puducherry, in the wake of charges that contents of the budget had already been highlighted in the media and the official website ahead of its presentation on Monday.

AIADMK legislature wing leader A Anbalagan told reporters in Puducherry that the party presented a memorandum to Bedi, urging her to recommend to the President the dismissal of the government for "violation of oath of secrecy" by Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy.

Anbalagan said newspapers on Monday had details of department wise allocation of funds for the 2016-17 fiscal, which was available in the government website before its presentation.

"When the media had carried the details, where is the propriety for Chief Minister to present the budget?" he asked, adding tradition and convention of the Assembly had been violated.

"It is a serious issue", he alleged. AIADMK had earlier staged a walk out in the Assembly during presentation of the budget after a noisy protest against "leak of budgetary provisions in the media".
