THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mr Kummanam Rajasekharan will take over as the Governor of Mizoram  at 11 a.m. on Tuesday much against his will as  he has told  national president Amit Shah that he was not keen on  the post.  But he was pressed to abide by the order to  avoid  technical  hitches. Mr  Kummanam, who  reached New Delhi on Sunday evening, told the  central leadership that he wanted to continue to work in the BJP.

Both the BJP and RSS leaderships were unhappy over the decision to send   him  to Mizoram just three days before the Chengannur by-poll. A top party source  told DC that certain BJP workers in the state were planning to hold protest meetings. “The RSS state leadership intervened  and pacified the workers,”  said a BJP source. A section  in  the BJP felt that this was a move to  sideline  Mr Kummanam from the state politics. The other day  he had reiterated that he preferred  to work among the masses and that he had  never desired  posts.   The BJP camp expects the announcement of the next state BJP president anytime.
