ISRO to give tech tips to private firms

A meeting two days ago chaired by Union surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari took a decision to this effect.

Hyderabad: The Centre has taken another step to promote electric vehicles across the country. After the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre of Indian Space Research Centre successfully developed batteries for electric vehicles, the Centre now plans to transfer the technology to private companies for commercial production.

The Automotive Research Association of India has successfully tested the lithiumion batteries developed by ISRO and this is expected to provide a push to electric vehicles in the country. After this, the Centre wants to transfer this technology to companies for commercial production of these batteries.
