Chittoor comes top in sanitation

Nellore: Chittoor district has bagged first place among other districts in the country for the construction of individual sanitary lavatories (ISL) as per Swachh Bharat Report. Chittoor collector P.S. Pradyumna revealed this during a programme at Chittoor on Wednesday. According to the collector, Chittoor stood first after having constructed as many as 2,38,141 ISLs during 2017-18. The second place was bagged by Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh with 2,38,141 ISLs. The third place went to Seethamarri district in Bihar for building 2,22,616 ISL's during 2017-18. Mr Pradyumna said they had confidence in securing the first position and credited entire official machinery for the accomplishment with hard work.
