Hyderabad: Retrenched Techies object Ivanka Trump visit

HYDERABAD: Retrenched techies from the city have raised “Ivanka Trump Go Back” slogans on the eve of US president Donald Trump’s daughter visit to city for GES 2017.
On behalf of the Forum for IT Professionals, techies distributed pamphlets alleging that Mr Trump’s protectionism polices resulted in mass layoffs in IT companies in India. This resulted in scores of software professionals losing jobs despite several years of experience in the field.
Kiran Chandra, a member of the forum, said that since Ms Ivanka was leading the US delegation, they wanted her to go back. This is nothing personal, we are opposing Trump’s policies, he added.
