Nellore: Ex-Army man murdered, wife Injured

According to Police, the deceased is a native of Kottapeta in Bestavaripeta mandal and he shifted to Bestavaripeta around two decades ago.

An aged woman was found murdered at her house located at Seetarampuram of Ungutur mandal in West Godavari on Monday.

Nellore: Unidentified miscreants murdered an ex-Army man and a real estate dealer Maddula Ramana Reddy, 50, of Besthavaripeta in Prakasam district during the wee hours of Wednesday. His wife Lakshmi Kumari, 45, also sustained grievous injuries on the head while  trying to save her husband.

The offenders broke open the lock of the main gate to gain entry into the house around 2.30 a.m. on Thursday and stabbed Ramana Reddy while he was sleeping.

According to Police, the deceased is a native of Kottapeta in Bestavaripeta mandal and he shifted to Bestavaripeta around two decades ago. He was into real estate business ever since he shifted to Bestavaripeta and he extended his business operations to nearby Cumbum town and Guntur also recently.

Police suspect that financial transactions might have triggered enmity with some persons and the murder may be the job of some hired goons. Giddalur circle inspector Sriram and Markapur deputy SP N.V. Ramanjaneyulu examined the scene of offence and have formed a team to track down the offenders.
