TP murderers out on parole violating rules, says KK Rema
They were allowed to go free when others undergoing life term in the same crime were denied such generosity.
KOZHIKODE: K.K. Rema, the widow of the slain RMP founder T.P. Chandrasekharan, submitted a complaint to DGP (prisons) on Wednesday against officials who granted parole violating norms and regulations to CPM leaders P. Kunhananthan and K.C. Ramachandran, both sentenced to jail for the killing.
As per the details sourced from Central Jail superintendent, Kannur, under RTI Act, it is clear that the parole to the duo was in violation of rules, she said.
Both the leaders were sentenced by the trial court for the murder of the founder of the breakaway outfit at Vallikkadu near Onchiyam on May 4, 2012. After the LDF government came, Kunhananthan had availed of parole for 144 days, and Ramachandran 90 days, she pointed out against the existing rules, she said in her complaint.
