Thrissur District Collector S. Shanavas has officially launched the programme.

Waste management is one of the toughest challenges faced by the state today. A group of young students has come up with a ‘Zero Waste Campaign’ in the city of Thrissur. It is not easy to run the project to clean the city in just one day. So the organisers are planning to complete the task in various phases.

The campaign is an initiative of the MCC Sports Welfare Club. Thrissur District Collector S. Shanavas has officially launched the programme. The cleaning campaign will officially start at 9 am on Sunday. at Thekkinkadu Maithanam. Several NGOs and institutions, including My Thrissur, Lions Club International, Heritage Motives and Victory ITI Thrissur, have already announced their support for the campaign.

More than a hundred students from different colleges will also be part of the campaign in the coming phases.
