Farmers of Anti-LPS villages to take protest to Delhi

The farmers of Anti-LPS villages have already launched a signature campaign in the capital region.

AMARAVATI: Farmers have decided to take their protest against collection of multi-crop agriculture lands through Land Acquisition Act and Land Pooling Scheme to the national level. The farmers of Anti-LPS villages have already launched a signature campaign in the capital region and plan to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek his intervention to stop collection of thousands acres of land for Amaravati.

They announced that they will meet leaders of BJP, Congress, CPI, CPM, Aam Aadmi Party and other political parties seeking their support. Capital Farmers Association leader G. Naresh Reddy said that they had gone from pillar-to-post, also meeting the Chief Minister seeking exemption of their multi crop farmlands, but in vain. Mr Reddy said that a majority of anti-LPS farmers had conducted a meeting and decided to take their agitation to the national level. He said that presently they are collecting the signatures of all anti-LPS farmers seeking protection.
