The parents of four minor girls who went to Saudi Arabia to try and make their lives better are trapped in a Kafil's (owner) residence as the employer is not willing to send them back, despite the woman having health issues.

Hyderabad: A woman has not been allowed to visit the city to meet her parents, 25 years after her marriage to a Saudi national. Maryam Bee, who was married to Haleel Bin Mustar Iba Dukhul Allah Asimi, a Saudi national, has not been allowed to meet her parents since 1993. After her marriage she travelled to Saudi Arabia and had seven children.

Explaining the ordeal Fatima Begum, Bee’s mother said, “She has been ill for over a year and has high blood pressure and chest pain and is being denied medical attention. I want my daughter to come back but her husband is preventing it.”

She is under house arrest by her in-laws and was not even allowed to speak to her family members. Begum has written to Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs minister requesting her to bring back Maryam Bee.
