Locals to get 95 per cent jobs in new zones

The Cabinet also approved naming of zones after famous temples and places of historical importance in the state.

Hyderabad: In the new zonal system approved by the Telangana state Cabinet on Sunday, 95 per cent of the jobs will be reserved for locals of the respective zones and five per cent jobs will be offered under open quota, for which candidates from all zones can compete based on merit.

The Cabinet has approved creation of seven zones and two multi-zones. The Cabinet also approved naming of zones after famous temples and places of historical importance in the state.

School study from Class I to VII will be considered to determine local status. Those who study continuously for four years during this period in a particular zone/ district will be treated as local of that zone/ district.
