EO: Counting of coins will be done soon

The EO refuted a section of media reports that a huge stock of coins and notes have piled up due to shortage of staff in TTD Parakamani.

Tirupati: TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal has clarified that the pending counting of accumulated coins and currencies in the TTD Parakamani, inside Srivari temple, will be sorted out in three or four days.

The EO refuted a section of media reports that a huge stock of coins and notes have piled up due to shortage of staff in TTD Parakamani.

“The counting operations are underway and is done by the staff of State Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Srivari Parakamani Sevaks and TTD staff. However, some coins have piled up at Parakamani past few days and necessary measures have been taken to it clear it soon,” he said.

TTD JEO B. Lakshmi Kantham has been asked to deploy more additional staff in order to clear the pile, so that counting and packing of coins in gunny bags will be carried out briskly, he said.

The temple administration has been facing staff crunch at Parakamani seva. It was learnt that 15 employees, working as guards at TTD forest department, were roped in to carry out the currency and coin transferring works.
