Adilabad: Bellampalli BRS MLA Durgam Chinnaiah was embroiled in a controversy after a woman organiser of a dairy headquartered in Hyderabad accused him of pursuing her for sexual favours, an allegation vigorously refuted by Chinnaiah.

The woman accused Chinnaiah of pressuring her for sexual favours in an audio clip that went viral on Monday.

Nandini alias Shailaja, the director of the Origin dairy firm, claimed at a press conference on Tuesday that the MLA harassed her for sexual favours and when she refused, he asked her to arrange girls.

Further, she claimed that Chinnaiah had abused his power to influence the police to book false cases against her and her staff when she refused his sexual advances.

She made public the alleged WhatsApp chat conversations between her and Chinnaiah. However, the MLA said, ”The phone number is not mine. I will proceed legally.” Chinnaiah termed the allegations as a political conspiracy by his rivals to tarnish his image ahead of the Assembly elections.

Further, Adinarayana, the dairy firm's MD, alleged that Chinnaiah used the code word 'tablet' for girls in his WhatsApp conversation. "Finally, we arranged some girls for the MLA to avoid a confrontation with him," he claimed, alleging that he paid the MLA a few lakhs of rupees to secure his support for his business.

“Chinnaiah provided us two acres of land on which we erected a shed for the dairy activities and we gave a share in ownership to his relative in the company,” he added.

The MLA said he had encouraged Adinarayana to set up a branch of the Origin dairy in the hope that local farmers would gain from it. The company collected nearly Rs 70 lakh from the farmers by promising to give them milch cows, but cheated them. Police cases were filed in this context, he said.
