Chennai: State revenue minister R.B. Udhayakumar on Tuesday filed a complaint with the city police commissioner seeking action against miscreants who are misusing his name on social networking site, Twitter. The minister’s complaint follows two instances in which unidentified persons using the minister’s name have extended wishes to RK Nagar MLA, TTV Dhinakaran.
In his complaint to the city police commissioner, dated December 26, the minister said that he had already sought police action in a similar incident. “On December 18, someone had used my name and posted a news clipping of independent candidate TTV Dhinakaran filing nomination for the recently concluded by-poll,” he said in a statement. The minister clarified that he had already made it clear that there was no truth to it and it was an act of miscreants with an intention to bring him bad reputation.
“While I am aware that police have been acting on my previous complaint, it has again come to my notice that the impostors had congratulated TTV Dhinakaran on his victory using my name,” the minister’s statement read. The minister sought immediate action against the miscreants.
