Bengaluru: Lokayukta seeks report on damage

The Lokayukta has also asked the authorities to find if the breach was due to natural calamity or an act of vandalism by some misctrants or negligence on the part of authorities in maintaining the lake.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka Lokayukta has given four weeks to civic authorities to submit a report on the Hulimavu lake breach and the damage caused to people.

The Lokayukta, Justice P. Vishwanathan Shetty, responding to a complaint by freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy, asked the Commissioner, BBMP, Secretary, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Chairman, BWSSB, Chief Medical Officer, BBMP and CEO, Namma Bengaluru Foundation, to submit the interim report explaining the cause of tank bund breach and damaged caused to properties by it.
