Hyderabad: Gaming shop owner held over betting

Hyderabad: A gaming shop owner, who was organising betting on the toss of a cricket video game, was arrested along with 12 others by the Task Force police on Saturday.

Police said Md Ghouse, 24, was collecting bets of Rs 100 from each punter at a video game store in Musheerabad.

The punters bet on which of the two teams will win the toss in the computer-generated video game.

A press release  of the Task Force police mentioned that Ghouse and the 12 punters were handed over to the Musheerabad police, along with Rs 49,810 cash that was seized during the raid, a TV, a PS2 gaming box and 15 mobile phones.
