70 new haemophilia cases in Telangana

According to the data, it has been found that the incidence of haemophilia is 1 per 10,000 births.

Hyderabad: Seventy new cases of haemophilia patients have been identified in Telangana this year which is high compared with previous years. Due to the growing awareness of the disease, this genetic disorder is now diagnosed and treated. 

Presently, there are 1,000 patients in TS, who are registered with the Haemophilia Society of India. According to the data, it has been found that the incidence of haemophilia is 1 per 10,000 births. 

It is an inherited single gene disorder where the blood does not clot on its own and the patient requires medications. The reported patients with the Haemophilia Society of India are 12,000.
