Srikakulam Receives Highest Rainfall of 21 cms

Visakhapatnam: The red alert sounded by IMD Amaravati continues for many districts for the second day on Thursday. Many districts in the State were flooded throwing the normal life out of gear. The Visakhapatnam collector announced a holiday for all schools on Thursday as many low lying areas were still under a sheet of water.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday, Tamada village under Srikakulam district received the highest rainfall of 21.8 cms in the State followed by Govindapuram 14.5 cms, Appannapalem 13.9 cms (both in Vizianagaram)

Thimmapuram 13.5, Mettakkivalasa13.2 cms, Kolluvalsa, 13 cms, Amadalavalasa ( all Srikakulam) 12.9 cms. Similarly Kondaigudem (ASR district) received 12.9 cms, 8.25 and Visakhapatnam 11.25 cms.
