Vijayawada: Survey of digitisation saves rice

On behalf of World Bank, Melinda Gates Foundation is surveying the digitisation process in Krishna district.

In Krishna district, the Aadhaar-enabled e-pass system is being implemented in the public distribution system. Earlier, without Aadhaar, there were 12 lakh cards. After Aadhaar-linking, the number of cards reduced to 11 lakh.

Vijayawada: On behalf of World Bank, Melinda Gates Foundation is surveying the digitisation process in Krishna district. They will study the digitisation of revenue records, going on in the district. They will interact with beneficiaries of the fertiliser outlets. They have been visiting the digital classrooms in the government schools. Eight members of the Melinda Gates Foundation are surveying the digitisation of the administration in different manner in Krishna district. They are collecting details of implementation of welfare schemes.

In Krishna district, the Aadhaar-enabled e-pass system is being implemented in the public distribution system. Earlier, without Aadhaar, there were 12 lakh cards. After Aadhaar-linking, the number of cards reduced to 11 lakh. It means there were 1 lakh duplicate cards and this will help the government save a large quantity of rice. Around 970 outlets were set up for distribution of fertilisers on Aadhar number basis. Almost 1,00,000 metric tonne of fertiliser was saved in Kharif and Rabi seasons.
