Five persons from a family were hurt when an overspeeding lorry tried to overtake the car.
Hyderabad: Five persons from a family were hurt when an overspeeding lorry tried to overtake the car they were travelling in and hit the car from rear at Ghatkesar on Friday.
According to the police, a six-member family from LB Nagar had gone to Medaram to offer prayers and was returning in their car on Friday morning. S. Anoop Prajanya, 23 , an IT professional, was on the wheel. While they were passing by Yamn-apet X Roads, an overspeeding lorry tried to overtake them and hit the car from rear.
Due to the effect, the car veered off the road and overturned. Five passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. They were discharged after treatment. Based on Prajanya’s complaint, a case is filed against the lorry driver.
In another incident at Sanathnagar, an overspeeding car heading towards Moosapet cras-hed into a Metro Rail pillar near Erragadda Metro station. By the time the police arrived, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.
