Hyderabad denies HSPA's allegation of inaction

Hyderabad: The commissioner of school education G. Kishen denied the allegations made by the Hyderabad School Parent’s Associations (HSPA) that the government had not defended the school fee regulation before the High Court. The charges were unjustified, incorrect and unacceptable and there was no nexus between the government and school managements as alleged by the HSPA, he said.

He said there was no question of filing a caveat because the government had already put up strong arguments before the court seeking fee regulation.
Reacting to this, HSPA member Ramanjeet Singh said the statement mentioned nothing about the government pleader not informing the association legal counsel about the filing of the petition by the schools’ association despite a specific request.

The information could have helped HSPA intervene in the matter, he said.
HSPA member Arvinda Jata said the association could have shown the court proof of schools profiteering.

The HSPA wants the government to issue an ordinance to set up a fee regulatory committee (FRC) and making it mandatory for all schools to take its permission before any fee hike.
