Hyderabad: 3-yr-old boy gets killed by horse

The police have registered a case against the tonga rider, and the search for him is on.

Hyderabad: A family’s festal plans for a dinner at a restaurant turned fatal for their baby, leading to the death of their three-and-a-half years old son recently at Shamshabad in the city’s outskirts. The deceased boy, identified as Baquar Sharef (42 months), was the only son of Ajdar Shareef, a small businessman of Moghalpura area.

The mishap, which ha-ppened on Sunday night at Meraj’s Palm Arabia-na restaurant at Gandig-uda village, with the Shamshabad limits under Cyberabad commissionerate came to light on Wednesday.

The tonga, used to provide joy ride for customers at the restaurant, claimed the life of the boy, whom the wretched parents had taken along out for dinner. The police have registered a case against the tonga rider, and the search for him is on.

On Sunday at around 7.30 pm, Ajdar along with his wife and son Baquar went to Meraj’s Palm Arabiana hotel for dinner. After reaching the hotel, the boy played in the play zone installed in the open area at the hotel premises for about half an hour.

At around 8 pm, when the trio was proceeding for dinner, a tonga, which was being operated within the premises to provide joy rides for customers, hit Baquar. He suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead. The boy’s father lodged a complaint with the Shamshabad police, following which, a case was booked against Mohd Hasham, tonga rider, the police said.
