Kakinada Municipal Corporation orders removal of flexis in a week's time

KMC received many of the complaints from the citizens of Kakinada.

Kakinada: Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) has taken a decision to remove the all flex banners and boards which are not having valid licences in the city. The civic body has given one week time to business establishments, individuals, political parties among others to remove them. Civic officials felt that these flex banners are distracting drivers and riders attention and lead to road mishaps. 

KMC received many of the complaints from the citizens of Kakinada. Citizens have requested the officials to remove them. Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will visit Kakinada for inauguration of Kakinada Beach Festival and district collector Karthikeya Misra instructed KMC officials to clean the city by the time of his visit. KMC has started to removal of the banners and flex boards in the city. 

Nearly 50 such boards have been removed. Meanwhile, the flex board organisers and responsible persons approached the KMC officials and requested them to give some more time for removal of the boards as they set up the boards with huge cost. Deputy city planning officer Mr Kalesh said that after completion of one week, KMC would remove the all flex boards. He said that no flex board will be allowed to put up without permission of the KMC.
