Nellore: Police still clueless about missing infant

Police teams searched farms, houses and wells in seven villages surrounding Reddy Nagar, but in vain.

Nellore: Even as the family members and police personnel of East Godavari district are celebrating the return of 4-year-old Jashith from the clutches of kidnappers in Mandapeta, police personnel in Prakasam have been groping in the dark over the whereabouts of a two-and-half-year-old boy who went missing one month ago.

The boy, identified as Medagam Arush Reddy, son of Ashok Reddy, was last seen while playing outside his home in the evening on June 24, 2019.

Prakasam district SP Siddharth Kaushal had formed four teams and has been personally supervising the case. Like his counterpart in EG, Kaushal had also rushed to the village then along with his team and elicited information on the incident from Ashok Reddy, the boy’s father.

He summoned the dog squad and clues team and they scanned the entire area from where the boy went missing.

They also questioned people having differences with the family of the boy as well as suspicious characters in the region. CCTV footage from the bus stands and railway stations in the area were also examined.

Special teams were pressed into action and they questioned rag pickers and habitual offenders.

The parents of the boy are depressed and they have been knocking the doors of the authorities concerned., appealing them to locate their child.

Special Branch CI Srikanth said that they have intensified the investigation while expressing confidence in tracing the child.
