Chennai: The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam led by TTV Dhinakaran is contemplating action against the party's propaganda secretary Thanga Tamilselvan following serious differences that climaxed in an audio that has gone viral containing hostile conversation between the Theni strongman and the AMMK leadership.

“He (Tamilselvan) has spoken irresponsibly. Action will be taken. He will be replaced in the post (propaganda secretary)”, Dhinakaran told reporters after holding a meeting with his party's southern functionaries at his Adyar residence Tuesday morning. He had called the meeting to discuss the open rebellion by Tamilselvan, till recently a close confidante of TTV.

TTV said he would announce next week the list of new party functionaries. “Nobody can threaten me. It is obvious that he (Tamilselvan) is being incited by someone”, he said, adding that he had spoken to Tamilselvan after the audio came out and sternly warned he could lose his positions as propaganda secretary and Theni district secretary.

Confirming that the voice in the audio that has gone viral was indeed his, Tamilselvan told reporters here he would announce his next course of action after seeing what action TTV would take against him.

In that audio of phone conversation that irked the AMMK leadership, Tamilselvan is heard threatening in a menacing tone an aide of TTV and telling him to let TTV know that he (Tamilselvan) did not approve of his conduct and was fuming.

When asked by reporters to comment on the AMMK developments and whether Tamilselvan would be welcomed into the AIADMK, senior minister D Jayakumar shot back, “We will welcome anyone into our party, barring of course Dhinakaran and Sasikala”.
