Five killed in Belagavi collision

The Bolero was stuffed with vegetables and was heading to Kolhapur from Gokak when its driver lost control and collided with the truck.

Belagavi: Five people died on the spot in a horrible road accident that occurred near Nipani in Belagavi district on Monday. The incident occurred a day after three college students died in the outskirts of Belagavi in another accident on Sunday. Monday’s incident occurred on the national highway when a Bolero SUV rammed head-on into a mini truck which was heading to Bengaluru from Kolhapur via Nipani. 

The Bolero was stuffed with vegetables and was heading to Kolhapur from Gokak when its driver lost control and collided with the truck. Nadim, Raju Ahmed and Shabbir Sayyed, who were travelling in the Bolero and truck driver Ramesh and cleaner Anand died due to the impact of the accident. 

The condition of two others who were in the Bolero is said to be critical and both were admitted to a hospital in Kolhapur. On Sunday, three teenagers, identified as Harsh Sagaokar, Aman Kapileshwari and Atharva Jadhav, all residents of Belagavi who were studying in different colleges, died on the spot when the moped on which they were riding  rammed into a car at Desur on the city's outskirts. They was returning to Belagavi from Desur after visiting a temple when the incident occurred.
