Collector pays surprise visit to Karimnagar government hospital

Shashanka said the number of black fungus cases increased and asked doctors to provide necessary treatment

KARIMNAGAR:  Collector K. Shashanka on Tuesday made a surprise visit to District Government Hospital in Karimnagar and inspected the various wards. He ordered officials of health department to make necessary arrangements for treating patients suffering from black fungus.

Speaking on the occasion, Shashanka said the number of black fungus cases have been increased across the district. He asked doctors to identify such patients and provide necessary treatment, instead of referring them to Hyderabad.

The collector asked hospital superintendent Dr. Ratnamala to submit a report on medicines and injections required for treatment of black fungus. He wanted sanitation facilities at the government hospital to be check regularly and kept clean.

Nodal officials Ch. Manoj Kumar, Puli Madhusudhan, Shouraiah, Dr. Krishna Prasad, Dr. Srinivas and Dr. Naveen were among those present during the collector’s visit.
