Hyderabad: The struggle that pedestrians undergo in the city is legendary. Even a rap from the High Court has not moved the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to fix footpaths in the city.

Forget about crowded places where footpaths are encroached by shop-keepers and vendors, even the posh Banjara Hills is not immune.

City resident B. Sanjay posted two pictures of a footpath along Banjara Hills Road No. 2. One picture shows iron rods protruding on to the footpath at a place where a bus stop has been removed. Mr Sanjay who walks in the area in the mornings, said, “Do these ‘five minars’ on the footpath serve any special purpose?”

The other shows a footpath with a barricade being blocked by a structure. Mr Sanjay quipped that the footpath had only an entry and no exit.
