Kottayam Medical College Hospital rules out Nipah virus

Kottayam: Kottayam Medical College Hospital authorities said that Nipah virus was not the cause for illness of three persons who were admitted a few days ago with fever and asphyxiation. 

The patients including a native of Perambra in Kozhikode, a nursing student and another person were undergoing treatment over suspicion that they were infected. The test results were released after getting them from Virology institute at Manipal. The blood samples of the three were sent after the doctors expressed doubts over the infection of Nipah.
