Hyderabad: Years after the MMTS began, the service is still not “multi-modal”.

There is no connectivity between residential colonies and MMTS stations, leaving passengers at the mercy of autorickshaw drivers. RTC GHMC zone executive director A. Purushotham Naik said the RTC was operating services to major MMTS stations.

“We are providing direct trips wherever possible and parallel trips to areas near stations. Due to lack of good roads, we are unable to serve MMTS passengers at some stations,” he said.

MMTS passengers who use stations like James Street, Sanjeevaiah Park, Jamia Osmania, Bharatnagar, Borabanda, Hitec City and Hafeezpet face problems reaching stations.

Ms K. Jyothy, a student from OU, said getting private cabs to travel from Jamia Osmania station to Arts College was always a problem.

Mr V.S. Rao, a techie from Hitec City, said there was a mis-match between the schedules of RTC buses and MMTS trains.

“We can’t depend on RTC to reach the stations,” he said.
