Odisha: Lecturer's 2 sons, friend drown to death in Hirakud reservoir

Rescue teams from Sambalpur city fished out the body and sent them to Veer Surendra Sai Medical College for postmortem.

Sambalpur: In a tragic incident, two sons of a lecturer and his friend died while taking bath in Hirakud reservoir near here on Friday morning.

According to reports, Kishore Hota, physics lecturer of Laramba College, Sambalpur, - along with his two sons – Hitesh Hota and Asit Hota - and friend Susanta Mishra, lecturer in English, had gone to the reservoir to take bath.

While taking bath near Jhankaani temple, Hitesh and Asit inadvertently entered the deep water in the reservoir and started drowning. As they shouted for help, Kishore’s friend Sushant Mishra, who was standing the bank, jumped into the water.

However, he along with the two boys drowned in the reservoir.

Hitesh was a PhD scholar at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology and Asit was pursuing Plus Two science course.

The victims belonged to Basant Vihar of Burla town.
