Guntur: Relief from capital gains sought for 1st land sale

The Rajadhani Farmers Association leaders sought capital gains exemption during the first sale of the land.

GUNTUR: The Rajadhani Farmers Association leaders sought capital gains exemption during the first sale of the land. The farmers met BJP national president Amit Shah in the guest house of BJP MP G Ganga Raju on the Karakatta of Krishna river on Thursday.

They thanked BJP government for giving capital gains exemption to Capital Amaravati farmers and said that the exemption is for three years hence it should be changed for first sale without any time limit. Former MP Y Sivaji, MRPS leaders and various associations met Mr Shah and submitted representations. Rajadhani farmers led by M Srinivas thanked Mr Shah for capital gains exemption. They said that the new capital Amaravati development would take at least 5-7 years so the government should give capital gains exemption for first sale of the land without time limit. They said that Mr Shah gave assurance about taking their demand to the notice of the Union Government.

Former MP, Mr Sivaji said that as many as 1,40,000 people was arrested during the time of emergency without any trail and these people fought for the protection of democracy. He said that he asked Mr Shah to recognize emergency victims as “freedom fighters”.  He said that Vajendla-Tsunduru railway loop line was removed years ago but the land is with railway department hence requested to restore old loop lance to save one hour journey time and to use it as third railway line between Nidubrolu-Vijayawada. He further said that there is no use with new Guntur railway station hence he sought shifting the railway station to Manipuram flyover near Guntur bus-station.
