State plans multilevel parking complexes in Hyderabad

The project will be coordinated by metro rail officials.

Hyderabad: With car users reluctant to shift to metro due to lack of parking facilities, the government is planning to construct multi-level car parking complexes to make metro travel easy.

During a meeting with metro rail officials, principal secretary (municipal administration) Arvind Kumar said multi-level car parking complexes must be taken up in a big way in Hyderabad under public private partnership mode. 

The project will be coordinated by metro rail officials. All government agencies have been told to identify plots for parking complex in commercial areas and on the main roads.

The parking lots are being planned in such a way that it will be a part of Integrated Smart Parking Management System. Hyderabad Metro MD N.V.S. Reddy said the city needs 40 parking complexes.
