Hyderabad: Net technician suffers shock, dies

Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident a youth was electrocuted when he went to check the Internet connection at a house.

Md. Adil, aged 25, a resident of Macca Ccolony, Kalapather was a technician working for New Sky Internet, a private Internet service provider. His office received a call that a boy aged 15, Syed Arsalan, had suffered an electric shock from an Internet cable. On hearing this Adil and Javed rushed to the spot.

When they reached the spot, Adil touched the Internet wire which was hanging by the side of an electric wire and was electrocuted, said Hussainalam inspector G. Shyamsundar.

He added, "Both the electrical wire and the Internet wire were cut and hanging out. Unknowingly the victim touched the wire and was electrocuted. The incident happened when the 15-year-old touched the wire and suffered a shock, but he survived as his family was present at the spot."

However, when Adil and Javed reached the spot to rectify the problem there was nobody around. When Adil was electrocuted Javed started screaming for help but couldn't find anyone and unfortunately the youth lost his life. We shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem and handed over the body to the family.

The deceased's father was not willing to lodge a complaint against anyone as he said that it was nobody's fault. So we didn't book a case against anyone, the inspector said.
