Hyderabad cops gear up for fair, free elections

Both the Telugu states are going to polls in the first phase.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar on Monday said that the city police is all set to conduct free and fair Lok Sabha elections for the first phase of which starts from April 11. Both the Telugu states are going to polls in the first phase.

Four parliamentary segments — Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Chevella,  Malkajgiri are under the jurisdictions of the city police.

More than 9,700 policemen including civil and armed have been deployed for election duty in the city.

They have been undergoing training to ensure free, inclusive and participatory elections.

There are 4,020 polling stations in the Hyderbad jurisdiction of which 13 have been identified as vulnerable polling stations.
