Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Rescue 26 Children At Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad: The anti-human trafficking unit of the women safety wing rescued 26 children and arrested their eight traffickers at the Secunderabad railway station on Wednesday. The children were being brought to Hyderabad to work as labour.

Teams from the Government Railway Police and Railway Police Forcem Secunderabad, along with the NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan participated in the operation, after receiving information that children aged between 13 and 18, were being brought from West Bengal and Jharkhand on the East Coast Express. The operation to rescue them was mounted en route from Vijayawada to Secunderabad.

The arrested accused were identified as Ramjan Molla, 19, Priyarul Sekh, 20, Sk Jakir Ali, 24,  and Surojit Santra, 32, from West Bengal; Sekh Saidul, 27, Susen Tudu, 37, Abdul Alamin Mondel, 30, from Charminar and Pintu Das, 30, from Jharkhand.

The GRP police booked a case against the gang under Indian Penal Code sections govering unlawful compulsory labour and criminal act done by several persons.
