DIEO hammer on 53 colleges across Telangana

The officers even checked locked classrooms.

Hyderabad: As many as 53 corporate colleges in Hyderabad, Medchal, and Ranga Reddy districts were inspected by District Intermediate Education Officers (DIEOs) recently to check if they were conducting special classes during the summer vacations.

B. Jayaprada, the DIEO of Hyderabad, inspected 21 colleges; Mr Prabhakar, the DIEO of Medchal, inspected 20; and Venkaiah Naik, the DIEO of Ranga Reddy district, inspected 18. They were assisted by 27 teams from the three districts. The officers even checked locked classrooms.

Among the colleges that were served show-cause notices and warned against conducting classes during the summer vacations were Narayana Junior College, Dilsukhnagar and Sri Gayatri Junior College, Thummalakunta.

The classrooms of Narayana Junior College, Ibrahimpatnam, Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Kalasala, and Velociity Junior College were locked by the DIEOs, and the authorities of 9 Education Academy, Akash Academy and Dr JEE Academy were asked to meet with the Secretary of the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) after stopping the special classes they were conducting for NEET and JEE aspirants.
