2 University of Mysuru profs suspended for Siddu campaign

The varsity registrar reportedly recommended to the in-charge vice-chancellor C Basavaraj to suspend them.

Mysuru: Two professors of University of Mysuru have reportedly been suspended for campaigning for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a few days ago in Mysuru.

Prof Mahesh Chandra Guru of the department of Journalism at Manasagangotri and  Prof. Aravinda Malagaththi of Kannada Adyayana Samsthe are the professors. They had participated in a programme hosted by Hindulida Vargagala Vedike and Pragathipara Chinthakaru-a campaign programme for CM Siddaramaiah in Chamundeswari constituency near Ramakrishna Circle here on April 13.

Following the district election officer's direction, the varsity registrar reportedly recommended to the in-charge vice-chancellor C Basavaraj to suspend them for violation of the model code of conduct.
