Vijayawada: Angry activists of ruling YSR Congress staged a protest in front of their party MLA Dr Vundavalli Sridevi office in Tadikonda demanding that she be expelled from the party for voting in favour of the TD candidate in the recent MLC elections.

The activists shouted slogans against the Tadikonda MLA calling her a traitor of Dalits.

The YSRC cadre recalled that Dr Sridevi had met Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy along with her family at the CM’s Tadepalli residence a few hours before she voted in the MLC polls on Thursday.

They claimed that at the time, Jagan assured to give her a prominent place in the party in case she is not allotted the party ticket in the ensuing elections. The party cadre claimed that without any sense of gratitude, Sridevi had gone on to collude with the Telugu Desam, which is unpardonable.

The YSRC activists demanded that the party high command take stern action against the backstabbing legislators.

Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the protestors.
