Collector vows completion of projects at Vilangad

KOZHIKODE: District Collector Seeram Sambasiva Rao has promised the completion of various projects in the tribal colonies of Vilangad by March. He was speaking at the review meet held at Vilangad after visiting Panniyeri and  Kuttallur colonies on Thursday.

Drinking water projects, house repair and road construction work to the colonies are in different stages of development.

The collector asked the contractors to expedite the work. 

The forest department was urged to erect solar fencing in the area to drive away wild animals. The tarring of the roads to the colonies will be completed before March. The construction of the cultural centre is half-way. 

After vetting the accounts, the meeting said that there was no misappropriation in the fund given to the building contractor of the cultural centre. 

Besides collector, E.K Vijayan, MLA, block panchayat president C.H Balakrishnan, Vanimel gram panchayat president O.C. Jayan and officials of tribal, forest, revenue and police departments took part.

The collector also paid a surprise visit to an anganwady at Kuttallur.
