Telangana: Anti-beggars drive to be kept on hold

The decision came in the view of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit which will be organised from November 28 to 30.

Instead of incarcerating beggars as stated in earlier laws, the proposed Bill moots a rehabilitation scheme for beggars.

Hyderabad: Vinoy Kumar Singh, director general of prisons, on Thursday said that the department would hold drive against beggars in the city till November 30. The decision came in the view of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit which will be organised from  November 28 to 30. “We will re-start the special drives from December 1 after delegates of the GES depart from the city,” Mr Singh said.
