Bengaluru: With the arrest of Mohammed Salem, who was involved in serial blasts in the city in 2008, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) claims to have solved a six-year-old murder case and some robberies in Kerala. The sleuths, while questioning Salem, learnt about the murder and informed their counterparts in Kerala.

The CCB picked up Salem from his hometown Kannur in Kerala on October 10. He was taken into 14-day police custody for his alleged involvement in the serial bomb blasts case. During the interrogation, Salem revealed that he along with Parambai Majeed and others killed one Nishad in 2012 over some woman issue after taking a supari of Rs 25 lakh. Nishad’s parents had filed a missing complaint.

The police also found out that Salem and his men were involved in robberies in Kerala in 2016.

“It was for the first time that Salem confessed to these crimes and we informed Kerala police about them. Salem executed contracts to kill and used the money for terror activities,” a police officer said.

“We have already submitted a chargesheet in the serial murder case. We will file an additional chargesheet including Salem’s involvement, statements and his confessions,” the officer said.
